Julie Berry is the accounts and clients service manager for the firm. She joined Michael Phillips Black Wealth Management in December 1999. Her responsibilities include spearheading our Smart Planning Platform, customer service, managing our client database and reporting websites, and maintaining the investment information of individual clients. She has worked in the financial planning industry for 26 years and has contributed her experience and understanding of the industry to this firm. She is a Certified Notary Public and is an integral part of the firm. She enjoys hard work both in and out of the office. She graduated from Southern Illinois University, where she was chosen as an ambassador to Beijing, China. She also attended the University of San Jose, Costa Rica for a three month study program. She is a former collegiate soccer player who continues to play the game of soccer. A devoted wife and mother,  Through the years, Julie enjoyed watching her son play collegiate baseball while he pursued his degree in both Business and Education.  

Libby is the firm’s Marketing/Administrative Assistant. She assists in creating and executing marketing campaigns, as well as scheduling appointments and general office duties. Libby graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors degree in Education. She recently moved to Sun Lakes, with her husband and dog Bailey. She loves spending time with her son and daughter, when they are home from college. In her spare time, she loves to travel, craft, shop and share fun times with her extended family.

Michael Black began his career in the public accounting field specializing in tax planning for both individuals and businesses. He has since redirected his practice to focus on comprehensive financial planning. Michael is a Certified Financial Planning (CFP^®) professional and holds membership in the Financial Planning Association. In addition to his securities licenses he is licensed in both Life and Health insurance. He is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA^®), and holds member with the Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA™). Most recently he became an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF^®) although he has been a practicing Fiduciary from the start of his Financial Planning career.

Michael is a frequent lecturer on financial topics both locally and nationally. He has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes Money, Men’s Health, among others, and is a regular contributor to the Arizona Republic. He has made appearances as a Financial Expert on Fox News 10, ABC 15, Sonoran Living Arizona Family News Channel 3, National broadcast include: Nightly Business Report and The Financial Advisors on PBS.

Michael graduated from the University of Arizona, where he majored in both Accounting and Finance, and from the Investment Training Institute. He also has achieved certifications as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ or CFP^® practitioner from the College for Financial Planning, and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst^® from the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA™).

Michael is married and has 4 children. He is an avid boater and has worked as a transatlantic delivery captain, delivering small yachts throughout the eastern seaboard and the Mediterranean.
